Golf Solitaire

Goal

Clear every card from the tableau before the stock pile runs out. Golf Solitaire is a one-player card puzzle. You are trying to make a long chain of playable cards.

Board Layout

• Tableau: the grid of cards you are trying to clear.
• Waste: the face-up card you play onto.
• Stock: the face-down pile you draw from when stuck.

Legal Moves

Tap a tableau card if it is exactly one rank higher or one rank lower than the waste card. Suits do not matter.

Waste is 7 → you may play 6 or 8

Waste is Queen → you may play Jack or King

Using the Stock

Press Draw Card when you do not have a playable tableau card. Drawing changes the waste card and may create new moves.

You lose when the stock is empty and no tableau card can be played.

Modes

Classic Golf

Standard one-rank-up or one-rank-down gameplay.

Easy Golf

Aces and Kings can wrap around, so A can play on K and K can play on A.

Relaxed Golf

Also allows King/Ace wrapping for a friendlier game.

Hard Golf

Same as Classic, but playable cards are not highlighted. You must figure out the legal moves yourself.

Strict Golf

No King/Ace wrapping and no move hints. This is the toughest clean rule set.

Pyramid Golf

A tighter layout inspired by pyramid-style solitaire boards.

Quick Golf

Smaller tableau for a faster round.

Strategy

• Look for chains before tapping. A single move may open several more.
• Do not draw too quickly. Drawing uses up your limited stock.
• Prefer cards that continue a run instead of ending one.
• If two cards are playable, choose the one that creates more follow-up moves.
• Kings and Aces are harder in Classic mode because they have fewer neighbors.

Example Turn

The waste card is 9. You see 8, 10, and King in the tableau. You may play the 8 or 10. If you play 10 and then see a Jack, Queen, King chain, that may be the better move.
