You are Black. The AI is White. Take turns placing stones on the intersections where the board lines cross.
This arcade version uses a simple beginner score: stones on the board + stones captured. The higher score wins.
Unlike Checkers or Reversi, Go stones are placed on the intersections, not inside the squares.
A liberty is an open empty point directly next to a stone: above, below, left, or right. Diagonal spaces do not count.
A stone or connected group is captured when it has zero liberties.
To capture White stones, surround them so there are no empty spaces touching that group.
Stones of the same color that touch up, down, left, or right become one group. Groups share liberties.
You cannot place a stone where it would instantly have no liberties, unless that move captures enemy stones and creates space.
You can pass if you do not want to move. If both players pass in a row, the game ends.
When the game ends, your score is:
If your score is higher than Whiteβs score, you win.
If a White stone has empty spaces around it, it is safe. If Black stones fill every open point touching it, the White stone is captured.
