Rank Order
Most battles are decided by rank. Higher rank beats lower rank.
Lowest to highest: Spy, Scout, Miner, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Colonel, General, Marshal.
Special Battle Rules
- If two pieces have the same rank, both are removed.
- A Miner defeats a Bomb.
- Any non-Miner attacking a Bomb is destroyed.
- The Spy defeats the Marshal only when the Spy is the attacker.
- If the Marshal attacks the Spy, the Spy loses.
- Capturing the Flag wins instantly.
How To Move
- Tap one of your blue pieces.
- Legal move squares will glow.
- Tap a glowing square to move there.
- Most pieces move one square up, down, left, or right.
- No diagonal movement.
- Pieces cannot move through other pieces.
- Lake squares cannot be entered.
- Flags and Bombs cannot move.
Scout Movement
Scouts are different. A Scout may move multiple open squares in a straight line. This makes Scouts useful for testing enemy pieces and opening lanes.
Hidden Enemy Pieces
Enemy pieces are hidden until they battle. When a battle happens, the pieces are revealed, the fight is resolved, and the result is shown.
Beginner Strategy
- Do not rush your strongest pieces into unknown enemies.
- Use Scouts to reveal enemy pieces safely.
- Keep Miners alive because you need them to clear Bombs.
- Watch for pieces that never move; they may be Bombs or the Flag.
- Protect your Flag with Bombs and stronger pieces.
- If you discover a strong enemy piece, remember where it is.
Medium Strategy
- Create lanes for Scouts to reveal deep enemy pieces.
- Use weaker pieces to test suspicious defenses.
- Do not expose your Marshal unless you know where the enemy Spy is.
- Use your General and Colonel to pressure areas after enemy ranks are revealed.
- Save Miners for late-game flag hunting.
- Try to identify Bomb clusters; the Flag is often behind or near them.
- Force enemy pieces to move so you can tell they are not Bombs or Flags.
Common Mistakes
- Wasting Miners too early.
- Letting the Spy get near your Marshal.
- Leaving the Flag exposed.
- Attacking every unknown piece without a plan.
- Forgetting revealed enemy ranks.
Simple Plan For New Players
- Use Scouts to reveal enemy pieces.
- Protect your Flag.
- Keep Miners safe.
- Use strong pieces only after you learn what is nearby.
- Look for Bomb clusters and search behind them for the Flag.
